Three days at the Böhler site, one booth, a wheel of fortune, a laser – and on Saturday, a takeover that no one could stop. Cannafair 2026 was the loud finale of our trade fair season. Here's our recap.

Some trade fairs are marathons. Cannafair was more like a sprint with bass. Three days, a venue perfectly suited for it, and a Saturday we'll be talking about for a long time.

01Three days at the Böhler site

The Böhler site is not your average exhibition hall: old industrial architecture, high ceilings, lots of steel, short distances. Instead of exhibition carpet and neon lights, there's concrete and natural light – and that does more for the atmosphere than you'd think.

This has a tangible advantage for us. People don't just walk around the area in a loop – they stop and talk. And those who stop and talk. That's exactly why we'll be standing around a table for three days.

02What was happening at booth B350

Four things happening simultaneously – and all four practically the whole time.

Then there was the part that couldn't be put on a sign: people who brought their three-year-old HIZEN Stilus to ask why it wasn't drawing properly anymore. That alone made every day of the trade fair worthwhile.

The most common question at the station: "So little visible steam?" Yes. Convection works differently than combustion, and the difference between 180 and 200 degrees is more pronounced than most people expect. Two minutes of testing explains the temperature better than any manual.

04The laser was barely stationary

Engraving is now the most requested service at the booth. Insert the grinder , add a name or initials, and you're done. What makes a device personal doesn't end up in a drawer – that's the whole idea behind it.

What's noticeable is that the designs are becoming bolder. Initially, it was first names, but now crew initials, inside jokes, and entire sentences are appearing. Some of them cannot be printed here.

05Wheel of Fortune: your codes are still valid

The wheel of fortune had the longest queue at the stand. Scan the QR code, spin, win: a discount code or a free grinder. No ticket, no paper, directly to your phone.

06Saturday, 16:20 p.m.: the Flamingos take over

Saturday is always the loudest day at Cannafair – those who prefer a quieter atmosphere should come on Friday. This year, something else happened at 16:20 pm.

The takeaway: Taking over a stall attracts people who would otherwise have walked by – and they stay because something is happening at the front. An hour is the perfect amount of time for this. Any longer, and the stall's conversation devolves into mere noise.

07Four measurements, two constants

Frankfurt in May, Mary Jane Berlin in June, HamCan Hamburg at the end of July, Cannafair in August. Four trade fairs – and the same two partners were present at each one.

08What we take away from the discussions
