Doja is coming to Germany: What makes the new medicinal strains special – and how to optimally vaporize them in the HIZEN Stilus Pro Max

Californian genetics in German pharmacies. What were previously two separate worlds – "legacy" cannabis from North America on the one hand, GMP-certified medicinal cannabis on the other – are now converging with Doja's market entry. For patients, this means more choice, clearer genetics, and more intense terpene profiles. And the question of how to effectively capture these profiles in a vaporizer.

In this article we will discuss two things: which Doja varieties are currently new to the German medicinal market and how to gently and efficiently inhale these flowers in the HEAT Stilus Pro Max – with the settings that truly make a difference.

Note: Medical cannabis is only available by prescription in Germany. Strains, dosage, and application should be determined by your doctor. This article does not replace medical advice.

Who is Doja – and why is everyone talking about him right now?

Doja Pak (California) – via CP Medical and Bloomwell

A Californian brand from the legacy cannabis scene, known for selective genetics and uncompromising final product standards. With its market entry in Germany, three strains are now available for medical use, strains that previously enjoyed cult status primarily in the US – including... Doja Z (the first regulated introduction of "Z" genetics into the German medical market) and Permanent marker (chosen by Leafly as Variety of the Year 2023).

What sets Doja Pak apart from many other imports is that the genetics come as an original breeder cut from tissue culture, cultivation takes place under GACP standards in Thailand, and GMP processing is carried out in a Portuguese pharmaceutical facility. The stated goal: a medicinal product without the loss of quality that many patients have experienced in the past – especially without the terpene degradation that irradiation processes can cause.

Doja stands for one thing: Premium genetics with a clearly defined terpene profile – exactly what a high-quality convection evaporator is worth.

Profile of the new Doja varieties

Doja Z

"Z" stands for the Zkittlez family – one of the most sought-after strains of recent years. Its terpene profile tends towards sweet and fruity, with a resinous depth. Doja has cultivated the original breeder cut for over seven years – a level of genetic fidelity rarely documented in the medicinal field.

Permanent marker

Chosen as Leafly's Strain of the Year in 2023, it boasts a complex aroma profile: sweet, slightly "gassy," with notes reminiscent of dark berries and a hint of vanilla. The depth of this profile truly shines through only when the terpenes haven't been damaged by heat or storage – a clear advantage for vaporization.

Why pure convection makes the difference with these varieties

Cannabis flowers contain not only cannabinoids like THC and CBD, but also a whole range of terpenes – the volatile aromatic compounds that are responsible not only for the taste, but also for the so-called Entourage effect The following are responsible: the interplay of active ingredients, which influences the overall therapeutic effect.

These terpenes are sensitive. Very sensitive.

  • myrcene It evaporates at around 167 °C
  • limonene at approximately 176 °C
  • Linalool at around 198 °C
  • beta-caryophyllene at approximately 119 °C
  • THC evaporates at approximately 157 °C, CBD from about 160–180 °C

Anyone who vaporizes premium genetics like Doja Z or Permanent Marker at too high a temperature or with uneven heat distribution is literally burning exactly what these strains were bred for.

The Stilus Pro Max works using pure convection. This means that hot air flows through the flower instead of heating it via a heating chamber. This has two direct consequences:

  1. The flower is only heated when you draw on the mouthpiece. No heat build-up, no premature decarboxylation during breaks.
  2. The temperature can be precisely adjusted to the terpene profile. – instead of making a compromise between speed and conservation.

How to vaporize Doja strains in the Stilus Pro Max

1. Preparation: fine grind, loose filling

Premium flowers like those from Doja are typically sticky and resinous – a good sign of intact trichomes. Use a sharp grinder (ideally our HIZEN grinder for a consistent texture) and grind medium-fineToo fine a grind blocks the airflow, too coarse a grind leads to uneven extraction.

Fill the chamber loose, not compressed. In pure convection, airflow is crucial – the air must be able to flow through the flower, not around it.

Tip: If you vaporize the flowers frequently, our stainless steel dosing capsules are worth using. You fill them once, always have a consistent amount, and avoid oil residue in the chamber – this significantly extends the cleaning intervals.

2. Temperature strategy: extract in stages

Instead of choosing a single "best" temperature, it's worthwhile to experiment, especially with terpene-rich strains like Doja Z or Permanent Marker. staged extraction:

Stage 1 – Aroma (175–185 °C): The first two to three puffs at a low temperature. This is when the light, fruity terpenes come through – the aroma is clear, the vapor mild. With Permanent Marker, this is the phase in which the sweet, fruity notes are most pronounced.

Level 2 – Balance (190-200°C): The main phase. Here, the majority of the cannabinoids evaporate without destroying the heavier terpenes like linalool. The vapor is denser, the aroma still complex.

Stage 3 – Extraction (205–215 °C): The final puffs. Here you're extracting the heavier cannabinoids and last of the active ingredients. The flavor becomes stronger, slightly "roastier" – this is normal and a sign that the flower has been fully utilized.

You shouldn't go above 220 °C if the terpene profile is important to you.

3. Draft: slow, steady, deliberate

Unlike smoking, convection doesn't work through short, strong puffs, but through steady, calm draft for about 5–8 seconds. This gives the hot air time to flow through the flower and extract the active ingredients evenly.

Leave a 10-15 second break between moves – this gives the chamber time to return to a uniform temperature.

4. Use a spare battery

The Stilus Pro Max has a replaceable battery – for longer sessions or when you're on the go, simply insert the second battery and you can continue vaping without needing a power outlet. This is especially practical if you value a complete, gentle extraction: no rush, no half-finished sessions.

Cleaning: Premium flowers deserve a clean vaporizer.

Resinous strains like Doja leave more residue than drier flowers. This isn't a problem – it just means you need to... Clean the mouthpiece and chamber regularly. You should do this to keep the aroma clean.

  • Disassemble the mouthpiece after every second or third session and clean it with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Brush out the chamber with the supplied brush as soon as it shows noticeable residue.
  • For thorough cleaning, we recommend our HEAT cleaning set.

Clean paths, clean taste. That's exactly what the Stilus Pro Max was designed for.

Conclusion: Premium genetics meets precise vaporization

The new Doja strains show where the medicinal market is headed: away from interchangeable "22/1 flowers" and towards clearly defined genetics with documented terpene profiles. For patients, this is a real improvement – but only if the application methods keep pace.

A convection evaporator like the Stilus Pro Max It makes the difference visible (and tasteable) where it originates: in the terpenes. With the right grind, a staged extraction, and a gentle flow, you can get out of a strain like Doja Z or Permanent Marker exactly what it was originally bred for.

Gentle, because the heat only flows when you need it. Efficient, because no active ingredients are lost between doses.
