How we check reviews

On HIZEN.de you will see a summarized rating in several places. On this page, we explain where these numbers come from, how they are calculated, and what they do not cover.

The numbers at a glance

As of August 18, 2026, there are a total of 2.997 reviews with an overall rating of 4,65 out of 5. These are distributed across four categories:

The categories are deliberately kept separate: A product review says something about an item, a shop review about our service. Merging both into a single metric would be misleading.

How the overall grade is calculated

The overall score of 4,65 is the weighted average of all four categories. A note on accuracy: The Trustpilot score is a TrustScore calculated by Trustpilot using its own methodology, which gives more weight to newer reviews—it is therefore not a simple average. We have used a conservative approach; depending on the calculation method, the overall score would be between 4,65 and 4,66. We are reporting the lower value.

Period

The reviews are from the period between May 2019 and September 2026. Important for context: The oldest review, which originates from an order in our own shop, is from November 27, 2023. All entries dated before that are imported reviews (see next section).

Origin of the ratings — full disclosure

Not all reviews were generated in the same way. We disclose this because otherwise the total number could give a false impression:

634 shop reviews All items originate exclusively from orders placed in this shop. Each item is assigned an order number and verified as a purchase.
1.297 product reviews have been organically distributed to individual articles.
519 product reviews These reviews were taken from our Amazon sales channel. They mainly concern grinders. They are genuine customer reviews, but they do not originate from orders placed in this shop.
170 product reviews were transferred from our previous rating system in 2023 as part of a system change.
228 reviews lie on our public Trustpilot profile for hizen.deThey are submitted directly by customers and managed by Trustpilot, not by us. The same reviews are also available on the portal. experiences.app Listed (229 entries as of September 4, 2026). We only count them once to ensure no rating is included twice in the total.
149 reviews from other sources were collected and entered into our rating system in November 2023.

How authenticity is ensured

The collection and storage of reviews is handled by Reviews.io (Reviews.co.uk Ltd.), an independent service provider. We request reviews via email after an order is completed. Reviews.io assigns each incoming shop review to the underlying order and marks it as a verified purchase. Reviews on Trustpilot and erfahrungen.app are the sole responsibility of the respective platforms; we have no influence on their publication or order.

We do not delete reviews simply because they are negative. A review will only be removed if it violates applicable law, is offensive, obviously unrelated to the reviewed product, or contains personal data of third parties.

What the grade does not contain

Our Google business profile is not included in the overall score because no purchase confirmation is provided there. The sum of the four categories mentioned above therefore exactly equals the total score shown: 634 + 1.986 + 228 + 149 = 2.997.
