Your guide to your own mini cannabis tree

Congratulations on your CannaBonsai Kit from HIZEN!

With the cleverly designed self-watering pot, special accessories, and these instructions, you can easily create your first cannabis bonsai at home.

Step-by-step instructions

Check scope of delivery
  • 1 × CannaBonsai Pot with saucer (self-watering)

  • 2 × Organic cotton cord – for automatic water flow

  • 1 × special earth – airy, nutrient-rich & permeable

  • 1 × special fertilizer – tailored to mini cannabis

  • 1 × Plant wire – for bonsai training

1× Cannabis seeds (only if included in the set, otherwise own seeds 😉)

 Prepare the pot
  • Thread the two cotton wicks through the lower openings in the bottom of the pot.

  • Leave the ends loosely in the saucer – they will later draw the water through Capillary force into the earth.

  • Fill the pot with the included special soil. Moisten it lightly with water.
 Plant seeds & germinate
  • Make a hole about 1 cm deep in the center of the pot.
  • Plant the seed and cover it loosely with soil.
  • Keep the soil moist, but not wet. The pot regulates humidity thanks to its pores and wicks.
  • Place the pot in a warm location (20–26°C). The seedlings should sprout after 2–7 days.
 Bonsai training (from week 2–3)

As soon as your plant has 3-4 pairs of leaves, you can start Forms begin:

  • Wrap the enclosed plant wire loosely around the main stem.

  • Attach the wire to the eyelets on the side of the CannaBonsai pot.

  • Bend the trunk slightly in the desired direction – be careful!

  • Regularly trim off larger leaves to enhance the bonsai appearance.
 Use self-watering
  • Excess water collects in the saucer and is stored there. Alternatively, you can also fill the saucer directly with water if, for example, you are unable to water for a few days.

  • The cotton cord automatically supplies your plant – up to 7 days without refilling!
  • The water level indicator shows you exactly when it should be refilled.
  • The more than 1000 fine pores prevent waterlogging – perfect for the roots.
 Light & nutrients
  • Lighting: 16–20 hours/day, ideal with LED plant lamp
  • Fertilizer: After 2 weeks, then every 7-10 days, add a small amount of our special fertilizer to the watering water.

  • humidity: Ideal at 40–60%

 What to Expect
  • Already after approx. 7 weeks (depending on the variety and conditions) your CannaBonsai may be ready for harvest.

  • With optimal training and care, up to 50 g flowers possible – in mini format!

 Care tips
  • Regularly prune new shoots and large leaves to maintain the bonsai shape.
  • Never let your bonsai dry out completely – pay attention to the water indicator.

  • Observe the plant – it will show you what it needs (are the leaves drooping? too much or too little water?).
